PRO-AM Game Tuesday, April 19th was a great success with 22 ½ tables in two sections. Many club members met for the first time as the Open and Limited players often play at different times. It was a fun event enjoyed by all Sid Sandifer and Chester Masztak were the overall winners with a 65.77% game. Other winning pairs were: Spike Lay and Judith Andrews, Vivian Heading and Larry Griffey, Louis Jones and Betty Plagmann. Read more and see pictures of the PRO-AM.
At the Gatlinburg Regional Marilyn Garcia became a Diamond Life Master (5,000 points!) and Sid Sandifer earned his Life Master. We are delighted and full of pride when two of our own have such success Congratulations Marilyn and Sid.
Our EasyBridge 1 class graduated on May 2nd with a party and a game. Congratulations to all and we hope to see you at many of our other games.
Tuesday afternoon Jackpot game gives you three chances to win. You can win a free play before the game at Bridge Bingo, you can win masterpoints and of course, the Jackpot which is up to $70. Thursday afternoon games now have hand records for the month of May.
A printed club directory for our membership is in the final stages of development. If you have an address, phone or E-mail change, please have it updated in the computer before May 20th. (The orange Members Directory at the bridge directors desk shows the information currently on file.) If you prefer not to have your E-mail address listed, please notify any bridge director.
On our web site: (1) a new Two over One page featuring a series of articles by Spike Lay. Spike is a gifted Bridge teacher and a wonderful writer so be sure to follow this series in the months to come. Another new article by Spike, The Reverse Bid, is a must read. (2) Learning at the Club is now available showing topics to be covered in upcoming lessons. (3) A new postcard from Max and Betty Bayard (Thanks, we love the postcards.) (4) Tips: Clicking the ACBL Logo on any page takes you to the ACBL home page. And, the site map lists all the pages on our web site.
