Happy Holidays!
January is a month of opportunities.  Our Sectional Tournament and Unit 128 STAC games offer lots of opportunities to win your silver points.  The Pro-AM game offers a chance to meet new people and play with a Pro.  Limited players will have more opportunities to play as we inaugurate a new Thursday afternoon game.  And you have the opportunity to introduce your friends and family to bridge as our Easybridge 1 class begins.  We hope your New Year is filled with health, happiness and high card points.  One last opportunity in 2005 is our New Year's Eve Party and Game ... see you there!

New Year's Eve Party
Our annual New Year's Eve Party and Game is on Saturday, December 31^st.  Dinner will be at 6 PM and the game will start at 7 PM.  We'll have two sections: a 0-299 and Open.  Please plan to come as it is one of our very special events each year.  If you need a partner or a ride, please contact Max or Betty Bayard. 

Jay and Kathy Baum will be attending our New Year's Eve Party and Game --- Jay is the CEO for ACBL and Kathy played with Candy Griffey on the team that finished 2nd in the prestigious Wagar Knockouts in the Atlanta Nationals this past July.

New Limited Game (0-499 or NLM) Thursday afternoons
We have a new limited game every Thursday afternoon (1:30 PM; lesson at 1:00PM) starting January 19^th.  If you have 0 - 499 points or you are a Non-Life Master, this game is for you.  The club is excited about introducing a new limited game for our membership.  Please mark your calendars and plan to play.

Easybridge 1 Classes start Monday, January 16th at 9:15 AM
Betty Bayard announced: "Our next class of Easybridge 1 will be on Mondays beginning January 16, 2006, at 9:15 AM.  This is an opportunity for people to learn bridge.  No knowledge of the game is needed.  Every year a number of attendees have been referred by you, our current members.  Perhaps you have friends who have wanted to learn, or you may know someone that would benefit from meeting new people.  The first four lessons are free, so do help us spread the word.  Flyers are on the table--take some to hand out.  Call Betty Bayard, 788-0782, with any questions."

Daytona Beach Winter Sectional: January 12^th - 15^th
The Daytona Beach Winter Sectional will be held at our club starting Thursday, January 12th through Sunday, January 15th.  If you haven't played in tournaments before, this is a perfect place to start.  Come out, enjoy the bridge and perhaps, you'll go home with some silver points!

2006 Calendar Available
2006 Calendar is now available in PDF format for easy printing.  It shows 3 months on a page and has links to the Calendar and Special Events web page which contains more detailed information. 

Entertainment Committee seeks volunteers for 2006 events
The Entertainment Committee did a fantastic job in 2005 with all the lunches and meals.  I will take this opportunity to thank them again ... Thanks to Sarah Ash, Betty Sandifer, Judy McCall and Misuzu McManus and all the volunteers.  You've made our club very special. 

In 2006, we expect an even busier year with the many events scheduled.  The Entertainment Committee is looking for volunteers.  If you would like to be involved in one or more events, please contact Sarah Ash.  There are many ways to help from adopting an event to serving the food. 

Updates:
The food was delicious at our Christmas Party held Dec 12^th and we had 32 ½ tables!!  Read the story and see the pictures on our web site.

The kids at the Head Start program received approximately 120 gifts from our club.  Story and pictures.  The pictures are great!

Have you renewed your Club Membership for 2006?  The $10 annual dues cover the period Nov 1, 2005 - Oct 31, 2006.
