Hello to all,
Here is the first installment or pictures from wonderful Rio
de Janeiro. We took a morning tour of the city and found it
to be extremely attractive.

I hope our photos are coming through in the order I attach
to the email. The first one shows two enchanted travelers on
one of the world's most famous beaches.

Next is the primary reason why tourists come from all over
the world to enjoy them.
The tree-lined street could be Rio or Buenos Aires. The leaf canopies
give a feeling of calm and peacefulness.
We have not seen pillars supporting rocky overhangs in any
other part of the world.

Here they are common.

The
last picture is perhaps Rio's most famous scene. The statue
stands atop Mt. Corcovado, some 4500' above the city, and is
120 feet high. The mountain is the highest in the area and
is visible from much of the city. The view from the top is
breathtaking.
Perhaps you'll note that I put no text on the photo. Each
time I started, I felt it would not be appropriate. The
image, even more so when in its presence, is too powerful.
The Rio Carnaval in my next one.
